If you have been thinking about suicide, get help right away. Depression is very powerful, and you can’t wait and hope that your mood might improve. Talk to someone as soon as you can. If you can’t talk to a parent, talk to a coach, a relative, a school counselor, a religious leader, or a teacher. Call a suicide crisis line or your local emergency number. These lines are completely anonymous and you can be helped without someone ever knowing your name or seeing your face. All calls are confidential.
If someone you know brings up the subject of suicide, take them seriously. Reassure them that they have someone to turn to, and a friend to help them. Don’t lecture them about the reasons a person has to live, just listen to them. Even if a friend or classmate swears you to secrecy, you must get help as soon as possible. Tell an adult that you trust.
We've heard of instances where friends didn't want to tell others of their ''depressed'' friend in fear that they would be mad at them. However, think of it this way-- would you rather have a friend who is mad at you, or a friend who is dead?
